Call for 2022 Top 5 Lists

What are your highlights from 2022?

Was there a favorite show, book, album, song, podcast, restaurant, or friend?

Last year I learned a lot about you from the Top 5 lists you contributed, and my 2022 list now has a few favorites from your 2021 lists.

There were 15 submissions last year, coming in from California, New York, Oregon, and an 11-year-old writer from Seattle who gave an “inappropriate content” warning about one of his favorite shows, The Office.

I’d love to have you join in the fun! Take a few minutes and write down your top 5 of anything. More details can be found here, or just write/comment back to me with questions.

Please submit it by December 23th, and I’ll publish them over the week of Christmas. Reach out with any questions : )

2021 Year-End Lists

Make sure to check them all out at FridaySwell, a Medium Publication I created with hopes of more collaborative writing in the future.  For continuity sake, I’m posting my list again here on weekendswell, but head on over to FridaySwell to read mine alongside others.

And while I certainly wouldn’t argue for the quality of cassette listening, it’s reconnecting me to something nearly thirty-five years old: my tape collection.

These tapes have travelled with me through the years, pushed into tiny, dusty, cassette-sized cubbies in a closet that hasn’t been opened for a long time. Someday I’ll create Spotify playlists out of them, and finally demagnetize these plastic wheeled spools.

2020 Favorites

Some really great Video found our screens this year, and while it’s getting much harder to narrow down, I’ve managed a Top 10. That’s partly because there is so much more available, but also in this year, there was so much more time available to watch.

But first, music. I love exploring new sounds and artists, hearing new perspectives through soundwaves and lyrics, and this year took me places unexpected.

2018 Favorites

I’ve gathered my favorites from 2018 and I’m locking them in, “final answer”. I tend to categorize and collect in life, and that may be reflected below.  But it’s also because I have such a bad memory, this list is basically a note to myself to remember later.  If you’ve liked some of these too, let me know!

Books | Movies | Podcasts | TV Series | Music
